Ann Zernial

RN

Director of Nursing

Ann Zernial is a Registered Nurse with over 16 years’ experience. Ann has worked in cardiology for much of her career, but in 2019 she realized the overwhelming need for passionate advocacy for people suffering from addiction and mental health disorders. In her tenure as a nurse, Ann has held positions as a cardiac nurse in various settings (cardiac step-down units, outpatient cardiac rehab, outpatient cardiology offices), as an instructor for Austin Community College’s nursing program and a health science instructor at a local high school, a psychiatric nurse at a residential treatment center for adolescents and in inpatient psychiatric/substance use hospitals as well. Her leadership experience includes positions as a charge nurse, soon after graduating nursing school, and a supervisor at Cardiac Rehab where she developed and enhanced the program by streamlining processes and successfully leading them through two AACVPR (American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation) certification periods. In addition to this, she is actively pursuing a career as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to further her impact on those dealing with mental health and substance use issues and their families and friends.

When not engaging in the passion that is her work, Ann enjoys outdoor activities such as camping and hiking, investing her time in serving her church and local community, running a home bakery and spending time with her two fur babies, Lucy, a Schnoodle (Schnauzer and poodle mix) and Ruby, a Sugar Glider.
