Kaylynn Root



Kaylynn Root is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and also holds the credentials of Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Missouri in 2013 and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Dakota in 2018.

Kaylynn comes from a military family and when she was younger, seeing the effect trauma had on soldiers pushed Kaylynn to pursue the field of counseling. She has worked with Active-Duty Military, First Responders, and Veterans while employed at Warriors Heart Treatment Center in Bandera, Texas as well as the homeless and prison population while a part of the team at The Center for Health Care services in San Antonio, Texas and BVCASA in Bryan, Texas. In the past, Kaylynn has served as an advocate for individuals during incarceration, but also beforehand while serving as a champion of those in Drug Court, Mental Health Court, and Veterans Court.

In her downtime, Kaylynn loves to read as well as spend time outdoors doing activities such as hiking or softball. Kaylynn sees her own personal growth as an opportunity to give back further to those she counsels.
