Get Healing on Your Terms

If you or someone you care about is struggling to address your need for mental health, Alta Loma could mean the difference between relapse and long-term recovery

Care That Goes a Step Above

In the United States, more than half of residents seeking treatment for addiction are affected by co-occurring mental health disorders, but the majority never receive proper care for psychiatric concerns. Known as dual diagnosis, this negatively impacts their likelihood of completing treatment and sustaining long-term recovery. To provide effective treatment for residents with a dual diagnosis, Alta Loma has developed comprehensive programs that integrate mental health and substance abuse modalities. This allows for a coherent, structured treatment plan. All too often, other facilities cannot properly reconcile these approaches and provide residents with contradictory messages that conflict with and complicate the recovery process. The dedicated staff at Alta Loma has successfully created recovery programs that encompass numerous mental health and substance use disorders to ensure that every resident receives the quality, committed care they deserve. At Alta Loma, residents experience:

  • Psychiatric appointments
  • Weekly therapy sessions
  • Strategies for healthy living
  • Family treatment
  • Art therapy
  • A structured, stable environment
  • Employment and volunteer opportunities
  • Individual and group meetings
  • Healthy nutrition plans and education
  • Long-term continuum of care

By addressing interwoven mental health and substance use disorders simultaneously, residents develop a better understanding of how they relate and develop the skills to maintain long-term psychiatric stabilization and sobriety. At Alta Loma, you’ll learn how to recognize unhealthy thoughts or beliefs and apply appropriate coping skills to avoid some of the common pitfalls experienced by residents in recovery. It’s our mission to support you while teaching the skills necessary to achieve sustainable recovery that lasts even after returning to independent living.

A Flexible, Home-Like Environment

Alta Loma provides residents with structure and stability without being rigid and inflexible. Our goal is to give men with psychiatric and substance use disorders a stable, home-like environment in which they can begin to heal mentally, physically and emotionally. We strive to create an atmosphere of support in a comfortable setting. Our approach utilizes a continuum of care and phase system that ensures each resident is moving toward independent living while receiving the guidance and support of our experienced clinicians and dedicated staff. Residents will have the option to participate in leisure activities, employment and volunteer opportunities, meetings on or off-site, structured outings and weekly visitations. At Alta Loma, we combine structure and freedom to equip residents for success in less restrictive environments and help them to integrate into society after treatment.
