Alta Loma is monitoring the evolving situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19) on a daily basis, and we are making every effort to take preventative measures that will ensure the health and safety of our guests, our staff & their loved ones.

We are fully operational in our Primary, Outpatient & Extended Care settings, but we are also following the CDC and Texas Department of Health Guidelines, in accordance with the following practices:

  • Additional screening has been added to our admission and intake process including medically supervised quarantine areas while waiting for full medical clearance.
    • Pre-appointment – We’re calling all of our incoming clients two days prior to their first day to determine if they are experiencing any symptoms.
    • Appointment – We are screening our incoming clients upon entering our centers on their current health condition.
  • Enhanced medical protocols for in-person care and treatments
  • Increased Environment of Care duties including the use of environmentally safe disinfecting products, multiple times per day.
  • Supplies for staff and guests including PPE and hand sanitizer throughout each location.
  • Increased communication with families and referral sources based on the client’s permissions.
  • Daily temperature and symptom screenings upon arrival at all facility locations. This includes those providing regularly contracted services.
  • Visitation policies have been addressed and we will continue to follow directives from the State regulators and Health Department on a daily basis. We will ensure that our guests have communication access to their loved ones in a safe manner as we continue to monitor any changes in the visitation guidelines.
  • Delivery instructions for vendors and communications with those vendors on the preventative actions they are taking.
  • Telehealth sessions, as appropriate.
  • Full Resources for staff including support for their children while they are kept out of school, and the use of flexible time-off policies or working remotely.
  • Staff training and education on Infection Prevention, the CDC Guidelines including the use of their toolkits providing additional information on how to handle COVID-19 when quarantined, caring for a family member, and tips for social distancing.
  • Postings throughout the facility to remind staff and guests of precautions for handwashing, watching for symptoms, and social distancing.
  • Programming changes along with feedback from the guests to ensure positive experiences. This includes activities on the facility grounds, within the facility, and access to meetings.
  • Daily updates from the CDC, Texas Department of Health, and our local Health Department.

We are fully committed to doing our part to help keep our facility, our community, and each other safe and in this time of uncertainty, we continue as a team to gain strength from each other.
