You may notice that you have anxiety when you are feeling stressed out, but do not know what it can be that is bringing about these symptoms. It can be simple everyday things like your friends pressuring you to go on a blind date, but you start getting shaky and have puzzling thoughts the whole time. By thinking about what you normally do on a daily basis, you will be able to discover what everyday activities have been triggering your anxiety so that you know what to do.

Binge Watching

The problem with watching your favorite show episode to episode is that it is too much of a distraction. Your anxiety will still linger with you while watching those episodes because you still have not done anything about it. Once the show is over, your worries come back or they can get even worse if you do not have an outlet for them like not telling someone what is going on with you or not writing it down. While you can have occasional television marathons, you can find other ways to relieve stress in your life like volunteering, taking a walk, or petting some puppies at an animal shelter to help lower your anxiety.

Watching the News

It is always important to want to stay up to date on what is happening in the world. The problem is that watching too many reports about the daily tragedies occurring or government plans can have a negative effect on your anxiety. Especially if you keep lingering on that particular story and knowing you cannot do anything about it. While you cannot avoid current events altogether, set aside some time to catch up on the news such as during your lunch break compared to being glued to it all day.

Venting Before Sleep

You may want to vent to your partner about your worries and the bad things that happened today. While it is good to have an outlet, talking about these things before bed can cause you to feel restless and miss have a good sleep and even get nightmares. If you really feel like you have to unload about your day, try to journal so that you can look over your notes and process it. By keeping in mind your daily activities, you will understand the root of your anxiety and be able to figure out what to do about it.
